The LoRa1268 module is a LoRa module product launched by NiceRF Wireless. It belongs to the same series of products as our LoRa1262 module, so they will have many similarities. Our company is worried that customers will not be able to distinguish the difference and purchased Wrong product to go back. Hereby, for these two products, write down the differences between them, hoping to help new and old customers.
First, let’s briefly introduce the LoRa1262/LoRa1268 module products.
LoRa module LoRa1262
The LoRa1262 wireless module uses Semtech’s SX1262 device, a high-precision TCXO crystal oscillator, ultra-low receiving current and sleep current, and a sensitivity of -148dBm. The built-in 64KHz crystal oscillator can wake up the microcontroller regularly under low power consumption. The antenna switch of this module is integrated and controlled inside the chip, which saves the resources of the external MCU. The compact size is matched with an output power of 22dBm (160mw), which has great advantages in IoT and battery-powered application scenarios.

The difference between LoRa module LoRa1262 and LoRa1268
1. Chip
The chip used by LoRa1262 is SX1262, while the chip used by LoRa1268 is SX1268.
2. Crystal oscillator
The LoRa1262 module uses a high-precision TCXO crystal oscillator, while the LoRa1268 module uses an ordinary passive crystal oscillator. The difference between the two crystal oscillators can be referred to: "LoRa module LoRa1262 evaluation"
3. Working frequency
The working frequency of the LoRa1262 module is: 868/915 MHz, and the working frequency of the LoRa1268 module is: 433/490 MHz. When purchasing, be sure to pay attention to the frequency. Different operating frequencies have different applications in each country. For details, please refer to: "What is the regular frequency band of the wireless module?"
4. Transmit current and receive current
(1) Emission current
The emission current of LoRa1262 is 130mA, and the emission current of LoRa1268 is 110mA.
(2) Receive current
The receiving current of LoRa1262 is 6.5mA, and the transmitting current of LoRa1268 is 5mA. (Since the LoRa1262 module uses a TCXO crystal oscillator, the receiving current will be a bit larger than that of LoRa1268)
A customer once asked our company whether the program and hardware between the LoRa1262 module and the LoRa1268 module are compatible. Take this opportunity to answer this question: The hardware interfaces of the two LoRa modules are compatible, but the code needs to be slightly changed. The difference between the LoRa1262 module and the LoRa1268 module is summarized here. I hope to help everyone. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
